Journalism school has trained me to write clearly and concisely.
I started my career in writing early when I joined The Philippine Star as an intern and, eventually, as a part-time Assistant Social Media Producer. There, I developed my skills in writing on various topics, both in text and video formats. I even learned social media management along the way.
Feel free to view my writing samples below to see how I craft words into narratives.

My best-written works on text.
This is my first published video story for The Philippine Star. I co-wrote this with my former mentor at the company during my internship. As a video-savvy person, I enjoyed working on this project as it exposed me to the visual side of writing. I applied my keen eye for visual narratives, which I use in video editing, to author the script for this audio-visual package.
After making my first video story, I got to team up with my mentor again to write another script for #PhilippineStarExclusives. This time, I had more freedom to work on the project. I did things like transcribing the interview, choosing the best soundbites, and writing captions and thumbnails. It was a chance for me to show my visual storytelling skills.
Unlike the other videos I worked on in English, this one needed to be in Filipino. It was a chance to show off my writing skills in my native language. I teamed up with a mentor from The Philippine Star for this project. Like my second video, I had more freedom to handle different parts of the production process. I transcribed the interview and wrote the first version of the script.
Writing is my niche, but versatility is my most vital asset.
I was a long-term assistant in the business-themed series of The Philippine Star called #PhilSTARProfiles. Here, I was essential in creating accurately encoded interview transcripts. The written soundbites from the interview will then be used as on-screen subtitles. As an assistant, I ensured the organization’s efficiency in producing short-form video content for social media.
